British Columbia is a hard province to rank in, and not for the reasons most owners expect. A Surrey plumber competes with dozens of firms inside a few kilometres. A Nelson electrician competes with almost nobody, but the town is small, the highway is long and a search there can surface firms from Castlegar or Trail instead. BCSEO.ca builds SEO around that geography: which towns you can serve, what people there type, and which result type (map pack, organic page or AI answer) actually wins the call.
We work only on search. If you also need ads, a new website or a full marketing team, our sister service BCAgency.ca handles the wider mix. Here, the whole conversation is about getting found.
Why BC search behaves differently
The short answer: mountains, water and distance split BC into dozens of small search markets, and Google treats each one separately.
When someone in Langford searches "roof repair", Google weighs distance heavily. A roofer based in Saanich may appear; a roofer in Nanaimo almost never will, even if they drive down every week. The same thing happens between Kelowna and Vernon, Kamloops and Merritt, or Prince George and Quesnel. Your service area on paper is not your search area in practice.
Three consequences follow:
- Town names matter. In smaller markets, people add the town to the search ("furnace repair Penticton"), so pages and profiles need to name real towns honestly.
- The map pack decides urgent jobs. For plumbing leaks, electrical faults or lockouts, the three map results take most of the calls. That is why our map pack and Google Business Profile work usually comes first.
- Thin "city pages" backfire. Copying one page fifty times with a different town name is what Google calls doorway abuse. Our service-area pages are written one market at a time, with real local detail.
A worked example you can check
Say you run a drain and plumbing company in the Fraser Valley. Your average job is $450, and roughly one call in three becomes a booked job.
| Monthly SEO-sourced calls | Booked jobs (1 in 3) | Revenue at $450 |
|---|---|---|
| 15 | 5 | $2,250 |
| 45 | 15 | $6,750 |
| 90 | 30 | $13,500 |
At 15 calls a month, a $1,999 plan barely pays for itself. At 45, it pays back about three times over before you count repeat customers. That simple table tells you two things: SEO only makes sense if your job value and close rate can carry it, and the most useful number to track is calls, not rankings. Our pricing page walks through the same maths for higher-ticket trades.
What we do (and what we never do)
We plan, write and fix the parts of your online presence that search engines read. The five services are:
- Map pack and Google Business Profile SEO
- Service-area and location pages
- Technical SEO audits and fixes
- Content SEO and topical authority
- AI search visibility
We are not a contractor. BCSEO.ca never sends anyone to a job site, quotes on work or touches equipment; we market and advise the businesses that do. We also don't buy links, write fake reviews or publish pages we would be embarrassed to show you.
Proof from our HVAC work
Our case studies come from heating and cooling companies, so we present them as results from our HVAC work rather than plumbing or roofing results. They are still the clearest evidence of the method:
- Roma Heating & Cooling saw 400% organic traffic growth in 12 months.
- HeatLand reached a 300% lead increase in 6 months on the back of 850+ SEO articles.
- BoilerPart.ca runs 2,000+ programmatic pages with 180% organic traffic growth.
What transfers to a BC landscaper or electrician is the process: fix the profile, build pages around real searches, then publish answers steadily. The results page explains what each case does and does not prove.
Who leads the work
BCSEO.ca is part of the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group of companies. It is Canadian, headquartered in Vancouver, BC, and led by Ali Sedighi, MBA in Technology Management, who has 17+ years of digital marketing experience and has built 150+ live HVAC websites. You deal with a senior strategist from the first call, not an account coordinator. Read more on the about page.
Where we work
We cover the whole province. Each region has its own page with the local search patterns we plan around:
- Lower Mainland: dense, competitive and multilingual
- Vancouver Island: Greater Victoria plus a long chain of mid-sized towns
- Okanagan: fast-growing valley towns that search as one market
- Kootenays: small towns, long drives, low competition
- Thompson-Nicola and Cariboo: Kamloops as the hub, highway towns around it
- Northern BC: Prince George, the Peace and the North Coast
Not sure where to start? Our guides teach the basics for free, and the FAQ covers contracts, timelines and ownership. When you're ready, get in touch by call, text or email.

Where we work
Frequently asked questions
What is BCSEO.ca?
BCSEO.ca is a Canadian SEO service for trades, home-service and local businesses in British Columbia. We belong to the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group of companies, work from Vancouver, BC, and answer to Ali Sedighi, MBA.
Do you also do the trade work?
No. We are a marketing and consulting service, not a contractor. We never install, repair or service anything; our job is your search visibility and the calls it produces.
How long before SEO brings calls?
Google Business Profile fixes can show movement within weeks. New pages and content usually take three to six months to settle, longer in crowded Lower Mainland categories. We tell you up front which tasks are quick and which are slow.
Can you promise first place on Google?
No one honestly can, because Google decides rankings. What we can promise is a clear plan, honest monthly reporting, and work you own outright if you ever leave.
What does it cost?
Trades.Agency-family plans begin at $1,999 a month month-to-month, or $1,499 a month if you commit annually; BC clients add 5% GST. Cancelling takes 30 days' notice.
Do you only work in Vancouver?
No. We work across BC, from the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island to the Okanagan, the Kootenays, Kamloops and the Cariboo, and the North.
